Following rave reviews and a sell-out debut Fringe run in 2015, Jenny Bede is back after a year’s hiatus with her brand new show Eggtime…and this time it’s personal. Mostly because deeply personal musical hilarity (with classy dick jokes and the odd political rant) is how Jenny does it best.
“Her humour bites and cuts and has a superb feminist flavour to it, which just gives her work added weight. Jenny Bede is absolutely set on a collision course with stardom”
DAILY MIRROR *****
After making the mistake of looking up how many eggs she has left (7% of what she was born with, thanks for asking), Jenny decided she wanted a baby and she wanted one soon. Unfortunately her long-term boyfriend had other ideas.
Back in the dating game after nearly a decade, Jenny is finding things aren’t as easy as she thought. In Eggtime, the ‘UK’s much anticipated one-white-woman answer to Hamilton’ – (her words, absolutely no one else’s) – Jenny will be guided by her biological clock (which inexplicably sounds exactly like Jack Bauer from 24), duetting with her unborn eggs and wondering how soon on a first date can one reasonably bring up baby names (Queenie if it’s a girl, Rex if it’s a boy)?
Through a mixture of song, stand-up and sass, Jenny explores what it means to find yourself as a childless woman in your 30s. She’ll tackle modern gender politics, love, sex and the fear of dying alone (lols), whilst contemplating some of life’s bigger questions; Why are women’s bodies being governed in a way that men’s aren’t? Why do Batman and Superman get fully protective armour when Wonder Woman has to make do with little more than a tankini? Why do her family keep passing on articles about freezing your eggs? And how can she want a baby so much, yet still find herself taking the morning after pill on Mothers Day?
“Consistently hilarious…her show is a constant delight”

An award winning musical comedian and actress, Jenny first gained a following on YouTube by writing, directing and performing in a series of topical parody music videos. In 2013, Jenny started performing live solo material and after entering the Musical Comedy Awards went on to win Best Newcomer after just 3 live gigs.
“A slice of harshly funny but true observational comedy from this quadruple threat of a talent” EDINBURGH GUIDE ****
